Biovia translates Roadmaps into five COOCK+ project proposals and is inviting members to join
Let’s make it happen!
After introducing the brand-new Biovia Roadmaps, we want to strike while the iron's hot. That's why we're taking concrete action by applying for COOCK+ funding through VLAIO by the end of the year. COOCK+ projects are designed to help Flemish companies innovate faster by developing practical, openly available knowledge and tools that address shared industry challenges.
Join the Advisory Board of a COOCK+ proposal
Strong collaborative projects start with industry input. That's why we're inviting companies to join the Advisory Boards of our COOCK+ project proposals. As these are currently project proposals (funding has not yet been awarded), advisory board members will first be consulted before submission and have the opportunity to help shape the project so it addresses the most relevant industry challenges. If funded, the advisory board will act as a sounding board throughout the project, providing strategic feedback, ensuring the project remains aligned with the needs of the target companies and helping maximise the practical implementation and impact of the project results.
“The Roadmaps provide a common direction for our ecosystem and show where collaboration can make a difference. These first projects are an opportunity to jointly develop and share knowledge that strengthens innovation across the sector.”
Kim Luyckx, Innovation Director at Biovia

MARA

MARA is a COOCK+ project proposal that aims to help medtech and digital health companies make better market access decisions from the earliest stages of product development. The project will develop practical, open tools and an Early HTA methodology that connect clinical need, evidence generation, health economics, reimbursement, procurement, adoption and investment readiness. By integrating these decisions earlier, MARA will support companies in reducing development risk and accelerating successful market access, in line with the Biovia Market Acceleration Roadmap.
We are looking for medtech and digital health companies, from start-ups and scale-ups to established SMEs, that are developing innovative healthcare solutions and are willing to share their market access challenges, provide feedback on the methodology and help ensure the project delivers practical value for the broader ecosystem.

VALUE-READY HealthTech

VALUE-READY HealthTech is a COOCK+ project proposal that aims to help digital health companies become better prepared for hospital validation and implementation by putting value generation and demonstration at the center of product development. The project will develop practical, open tools that help companies define the hospital need they address, build a strong value proposition, and translate this into realistic evidence, workflow and implementation plans. In doing so, it supports the principles of the Biovia Value-Based Healthcare Roadmap, helping companies develop solutions that are better aligned with outcome-driven healthcare and more likely to achieve successful adoption.
We are looking for digital health companies, from start-ups and scale-ups to established SMEs, that develop solutions requiring hospital validation or implementation and are willing to share their challenges, provide feedback on the methodology and help ensure the project delivers practical value for the broader ecosystem.

CTRL-IT

CTRL-IT (Clinical Trial Readiness & Innovation Track) is a COOCK+ project proposal that aims to help biotech, medtech, diagnostics and digital health companies better prepare for clinical trials. The project will develop a practical, provider-neutral readiness framework that helps companies assess where they stand, identify gaps across clinical evidence, regulatory, quality, operational and funding readiness, and determine the right next steps. By providing earlier clarity and connecting companies to the right expertise and support, CTRL-IT will help SMEs reduce avoidable setbacks and move towards clinical studies with greater confidence, in line with the Biovia Clinical Trials Roadmap.
We are looking for biotech, medtech, diagnostics and digital health companies, from start-ups and scale-ups to established SMEs, that are preparing for or considering a clinical trial and are willing to share their challenges, provide feedback on the framework and help ensure the project delivers practical value for the broader ecosystem. We also welcome other clinical trial stakeholders, including R&D enablers and hospitals, to join the advisory board.

ORGANO-FLOW
ORGANO-FLOW (From Question to Model: accelerating industrial adoption of organoid and organ-on-chip models) is a COOCK+ project proposal that aims to make it easier for companies to select, access and implement organoid and organ-on-chip models in their R&D. The project will translate existing expertise into practical, open tools for choosing fit-for-purpose models, setting up workflows and navigating the ethical, legal, regulatory and collaboration pathways around patient-derived models. By combining KU Leuven’s expertise in organoids, organ-on-chip and patient-derived biobanks with Biovia’s industry and European NAM network, ORGANO-FLOW will help companies adopt more human-relevant models and reduce barriers to replacing or reducing animal testing.
We are looking for pharma, biotech, food, nutrition, microbiome and healthtech companies, from start-ups and scale-ups to established companies, that are using or considering organoid or organ-on-chip models and are willing to share their challenges, provide feedback on the tools and potentially contribute a demonstrator case. We also welcome technology providers, CROs and other stakeholders active in organoids, organ-on-chip and New Approach Methodologies to join the advisory board.

OHIT

OHIT (One Health Immune Technologies) is a COOCK+ project proposal by Biovia, in collaboration with Immunity for Health, that aims to help biotech and health companies select, evaluate and implement next-generation platform technologies for vaccines, immunotherapies and biologics. The project will develop practical evaluation frameworks, decision-support tools and implementation guidance around mRNA/LNP platforms, nanobodies & bispecific antibodies, and advanced adjuvant & delivery systems. Using a One Health approach, OHIT will leverage knowledge and experience from veterinary applications to help accelerate innovation and implementation in human health.
We are looking for biotech, pharma and health technology companies, from start-ups and scale-ups to established companies, that develop or use vaccines, immunotherapies, biologics or enabling platform technologies. We are particularly interested in companies working with mRNA/LNP, nanobodies, bispecific antibodies, adjuvants or drug delivery technologies that are willing to share their needs and challenges, provide feedback on the project and help ensure its tools are relevant for the broader ecosystem.
