Cryptobiotix joins the International Probiotics Association to advance science-backed standards in gut microbiome research
Ghent, Belgium, 5 October 2026 - Cryptobiotix, a pioneering contract research organisation specialising in ex vivo gut microbiome fermentation research, has announced it has joined the International Probiotics Association (IPA) as a member.
The move formalises a shared priority. Cryptobiotix and IPA both aim to ground claims about biotics, and the broader microbiome industry in rigorous, evidence-based science. The Cryptobiotix's SIFR® technology pipeline generates predictive data for ingredient and product developers, and its IPA membership brings that research into closer contact with the wider scientific and regulatory community.
The IPA is a global association that advocates for robust and evidence-based scientific research, facilitating industry collaboration, and ensuring the responsible design, manufacturing, use, and translation of biotics in various sectors. The IPA plays an essential role in ensuring that biotic products meet high standards of safety and efficacy and that consumers have access to accurate information about the benefits of all biotics.
