Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Lead and execute research programs focused on tumour biology and cancer immunology.
- Contribute to the planning and timely delivery of IND-enabling packages.
- Design, develop, and optimize cellular and molecular assays to support drug discovery, preclinical candidate characterization, and clinical translation, including the establishment of pharmacodynamic assays to support clinical development.
- Design, execute, and interpret functional in vitro studies to evaluate mechanism of action and therapeutic potential.
- Drive data analysis, experimental planning, and scientific decision-making, ensuring that preclinical development milestones are met.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance projects toward key milestones.
- Mentor and provide scientific guidance to junior scientists.
- Maintain high-quality experimental documentation and communicate scientific results effectively at all levels, including to C-level management and scientific boards.
Your profile
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Tumour Biology, Immunology, or a related life sciences discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company are essential.
- Strong expertise in cancer biology and/or immuno-oncology.
- Experience with therapeutic small-molecule discovery and development is highly preferred.
- Extensive hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, cellular engineering, molecular biology techniques, and functional in vitro assays. Experience with in vivo pharmacology is a plus.
- Willingness to remain actively involved in hands-on laboratory work on a part-time basis.
- Demonstrated experience in assay development, optimization, and implementation to support drug discovery and preclinical development.
- Proven ability to independently lead scientific projects from concept through execution and delivery.
- Strong scientific and strategic thinking, including experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate scientific concepts and data to both scientific and cross-functional audiences.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to work effectively and thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
