BioTechBad 2026
Are you looking to strengthen your biotech workforce? BioTechBad, a joint initiative by VDAB, Co-Valent, Essenscia, Talentenfabriek, ViTalent, and the City of Ghent, helps biotech companies in East Flanders find qualified and motivated employees.
How does BioTechBad work?
For many jobseekers, biotechnology is still an unfamiliar field. BioTechBad bridges this gap by immersing candidates in a realistic simulation environment. Participants gain first-hand experience of what working as an operator in the biotech sector entails.
Following an intensive screening and orientation process, suitable candidates receive comprehensive on-the-job training at a participating company. Each BioTechBad programme accommodates a maximum of eight candidates.
Proven Results
The success of this approach was demonstrated during the first edition in spring 2026. Thanks to the programme, Legend Biotech in Ghent successfully welcomed five new operators into its high-tech production facilities.
Autumn 2026 Programme
A new edition will take place on 20 November at ViTalent in Niel and 23–25 November at Fabriek Logistiek in Zwijnaarde.
The programme will focus on candidates who:
Have a good command of English (and Dutch).
Can work with focus, precision, and a structured approach.
Are willing to work in a clinical environment.
